How Do You Play Elf On The Shelf

Elf on the Shelf is a Christmas tradition where one of Santas Elves is sent to your home from the North Pole. Owners of the Elf often set up a scene to mark his arrival, gliding down a Zipline or holding an introduction sign.

The concept is that Santa’s Elf keeps an eye on the children’s behavior and reports back to Santa. It’s common for parents to enjoy the Elfs stay as much as the children.

There are no official rules as to how you decide to use the Elf in your home, whether you participate daily in new scenes, weekly or just sit him by the tree for the Christmas period. It’s entirely up to you.

There Is No Age Limit To Cheeky Elf Fun

There is no age limit to the Elf On The Shelf. Even after the kids are finished with Santa, The Elf is a great source of entertainment during the Christmas holidays.

I’ve seen many childless households take part in the Elf tradition, with the Elf getting up to some M rated trouble.

Buying The Right Elf

There are different Elves on the market.

The most well known trademarked brand is, of course, Elf On The Shelf doll. There are other elves, such as “Elves Behavin Badly” which are cheaper, and come in different designs.

The Elf On The Shelf brand is around $60 from the official website.

It comes beautifully packaged in a box with a book included. You can also choose between skin colour and gender.

Price compare before you buy, For the price of an Elf, you may find some package deals on Amazon that include extra clothing and props.

My advice is to steer clear of cheaply made versions, the body is not as bendable (some not at all) and the doll’s faces generally don’t have the same mischevious expression.
