Warril Parkland – Nature Based Adventure Playground

The best parks are those that utilise the natural wonders around them. Warril Playground is no exception.

Looking for somewhere to kill time before the Skating Rink opened up, we turned into a road that I thought would just be a dam with some grass. What an awesome stop over this ended up being.

Throughout the park there are huge stick teepees, made by children who have the freedom to go picking in the woods for tree branches. The playground is almost entirely made of timber, blending in with the backdrop of the bushland.

There’s a small water play area, with pumps and showers to cool off under. The forte is magnificent, a great size for all ages. The park has over 50+ parking spaces and was quiet for a Sunday.

The toilet block is viewable from the playground area and there are huge undercover seatings areas for birthday parties and gatherings.

The sun sparkles against the billabong, which hosts jetty style boardwalks so you can enjoy watching the local birdlife. There are trails in Warril Parkland if you are a keen walker.

Beyond the playground, you can see local kids have been using the terrain to make BMX Jumps, although it doesn’t look like an “official” BMX trail, I couldn’t find any signage suggesting that it isn’t allowed.

Warril Parkland is located on 1059 Paradise Rd, Larapinta QLD 4110
