Wynnum Whale Park – Wynnum Esplanade

Wynnum Whale Park is one of our favorite spots during the summer.

Be warned, it gets very busy during the weekends and holidays! Luckily, the park has plenty of space. There are both grass, concrete and astroturf areas along the esplanade for families to enjoy.

It is common for large groups to arrive early with shade tents and gazebos, spending the entire day at Wynnum Whale Park.

Wynnum water park has two major drawcards in summer.

Wynnum Whale Park Water Play Area

The refurbished water play area features several whales that intermittently squirt water from their blowholes. There is a bucket which tips when it’s full, providing a big splash of water over anyone standing beneath it.

The water activity area also has other smaller play equipment and is surrounded by concrete block seating and astroturf.

The water play area is open during the summer months.

The Bay Fed Pool With Slide

Nearby the Wynnum Whale park, there is a large pool fed by the water in the bay. It is a wading pool to adults, slightly deeper swimming experience for kids. The pool has a small waterslide suitable for younger kids.
