4 Kid Friendly Places To Eat In The Redlands
I’m always looking for kid friendly places to eat in The Redlands. Child Friendly Cafes in Brisbane seem to be in abundance on the Northside, but not so much over our way.
There are still quite a few places you can take the kids out to eat in the Redlands. I have picked the top 4 based on those which have playground areas available.
Since writing this list, Bay Play has also opened in the Cleveland Area. If you are hungry and you want to eat while the kids burn off some steam, this is one of the best kid’s indoor playgrounds in Brisbane.
King Country Garden Cafe, Thornlands
King Country, Thornlands has a small play area and the playground areas are in view of the eating area. The premises also has a reasonably large grass area, undercover decking and shaded tables.

Victoria Point Tavern
Victoria Point Tavern has a playground outside undercover in view of the outdoor dining area. The tavern also has a small indoor games room to entertain the older kids. The tavern has a Kids Club which you can join which offers extra incentives.

Capalaba Sports Club
Capalaba Sports club has undergone a renovation in 2016 and the Kids Club is now a miniature version of an indoor play centre. The club also has PlayStations for the older kids and movies. Occasionally you will see the wonderful stuff providing face painting and other activities to keep your kids entertained.
The Kids Club is supervised by staff so you can eat dinner with friends uninterrupted. There are tables close to the kid’s area if you would still like to the able to see in. Toilets are adjacent to the kids club and there are safety gates to keep them secure.

Grand View Hotel
The Grand View hotel has a small play area and plenty of grass area. The Grandview has a Kids Menu HERE which is reasonably priced and hold regular events like live music. The grounds look over the water and access is available to GJ Walter Park.

Some other suggestions for kid friendly eating in the Redlands.
These don’t include playgrounds, however I take my kids regularly as they are accomodating towards kids.
- Hogs Breath Cafe (I prefer the Victoria Point location),
- The Cineplex Cafe Victoria Point (has an arcade for the kids to play games)
- Sushi (Victoria Point Cinema building or Cleveland Shopping Centre)
- The Twilight Markets (Jumping Castle, live music and petting zoo)
- Victoria Point Fish + Chips (At the actual point near the ferry, playground nearby)
