The walk is suitable for all ages however I recommend shoes for the little ones at the shells along the beach can be quite sharp on soft feet. During the spring months, take a jacket as there is often a strong cool wind by the bay.

King Island Wellington Point is reserved as a conversation area. As you arrive you can hear the birds chirping throughout the mangrove trees. You can experience solitude even among other people walking to the island as the noise of the traffic and suburbia is left behind.

You can read about the history of King Island on the plaques provided and walk to the very end where the view of the coast is lengthy. For safety reasons its important to set off at the lowest tide with children and little legs get tired. You want to make it back before the tides returns.
