These Salt Dough Fossils are very easy to make and are perfect for a pretend archeological Dinosaur Dig.
How To Make Salt Dough For Dinosaur Party Fossils:
- In a large mixing bowl mix 1 cup of salt and 1 cup of flour together.
- Gradually stir in 3/4 cup of water. Mix well until a doughy consistency is formed.
- Turn the dough onto the bench and knead until smooth and combined.
- Roll the dough out flat with a rolling-pin or make small flat ovals
Making your Dinosaur Fossils:
- Take some small plastic dinosaur into your salt dough to leave an imprint
- Bake the fossil prints in the oven at 180 degrees for approx 15 mins
Tip: The fossils may need slightly longer in the oven depending on thickness. You can also air dry your salt dough fossils overnight.
The kids had a great time after the fossils were hidden in the garden and throughout the sandpit. They each received a bucket and spade and went to town!
