Beth Boyd Park Birkdale – Redlands Playground & Picnic Spot
Beth Boyd Park – Aquatic Paradise Park, Commodore Drive, Birkdale
Beth Boyd Park in Birkdale has a medium sized playground and other facilities to enjoy. This park is well known to the locals for its lush green grass and twin racing slides on the hill. The swimming area is occasionally weedy but on a clear day, it’s a wonderful place for kids to cool off.
Beth Boyd Park has been upgraded in the last few years. The improvements include a new playground with large shade sail over the top as well as tidying up the existing facilities. This upgrade started in 2011 and the playground is now complete.
The toilets have an outdoor shower at the rear. Electric BBQs are available and the Grass area is often greener than most of the Redlands park areas. The foreshore has a long pathway which can be used for kids to ride their bikes & scooters on.
We visit Beth Boyd Park because it is well kept and even when busy there is always plenty of room to park a picnic blanket. The park has an off-leash area close by for dogs, however, it is unfenced. Parking is available right at the playground area and if those are full there are plenty of spaces close by.
Beth Boyd Park is one of my favourite picnic spots at there are a couple or large shady trees which I usually park my blanket under and read a book while the kids play. If your children are younger please note the park is unfenced and water is VERY close. You can check the tide times HERE.
