It’s Dry Season. Cedar Creek Falls, Airlie Beach

Cedar Creek Falls, Airlie Beach is best visited after some rain. The water in the swimming hold below is clear, plenty of people were enjoying a dip even without the water flowing from the cliff face.

We visited in late October. Sadly Airlie Beach had been so dry, there was no “Falls”. It was still a nice spot to visit, walking the dry river bed was interesting.

We spotted plenty of goannas walking around and bird wildlife in the shady trees that overhand the dry creek bed. The drive out to the falls is around 30 minutes from the Airlie Beach CBD.

There is a nursery with a cute little coffee van out the front before you turn off onto the last stretch of Cedar Creek Rd. We grabbed some ice blocks and a coffee, the service was great.

Another place you might like to visit while you are exploring Airlie Beach is the pristine, blue ocean views at Dingo Beach.
