Brisbane Riverfire

Brisbane Riverfire is Queensland’s ultimate fireworks display. The fireworks show includes the RAAF Super Hornet and Army helicopter crossing the skies from around 4pm.

The fireworks start shortly after 7pm.

The best way to organise your trip to Riverfire is to pre-book your parking using secure park or arrive early Via public transport. The closer the parking venue the earlier you will need to book to ensure a spot.

For example: Parking Centre SW1 which is the closest was booked out 48 hours prior to the event.

The event is alive with the usual Brisbane community spirit. Our little city certainly knows how to pull together and put on a show without too many dramas.

The event is alcohol free and family friendly. South Bank is well staffed with police force and some Ambulance on standby in case of emergencies.

Parking Tip: Browning Street Secure park costs $8.50 Pre-booked for a 24 hour period and is a 12 Minute walk to South Bank Parklands. The Brisbane Riverfire events best viewing areas get jam-packed so arrive early if you have your heart set on a good spot.

Packing Tip: It’s best to bring towels and spare clothing as the water is warm but the breeze is cool. If you forget a jumper or towel you can purchase them at the newsagent. Food is being promptly served but the line ups are long so be prepared with spare snacks.

Pack a plastic lined picnic blanket as some of the best vantage points are on the grass or sand.

Family Tip: Make sure the kids visit the toilet before you leave home and juice and soft drinks to a minimum closer to the firework starting time as it takes approx 30 minutes for a trip to the loo! Consider holding off leaving immediately after the show to save yourself a painful shuffle back to the parking lot.

I will update this article throughout the year to bring you more tips in the future.
