GJ Walter Park, Cleveland, Redlands Queensland
GJ Walter park is a reasonably quiet park in comparison to the other playground and bayside areas in the Redlands. To get a view of the park, browse our photos below this article.
Situated behind the Grandview Hotel the park is a fantastic spot to set up for a weekend BBQ. During low tide, you can spot thousands of shells along the shore and watch the ferries go by.

What Is Unique About This Park?
GJ Walter park has some interesting trees with a hollow bottom, makes a great photo opportunity if your little one is small enough. The park has a huge grass area which is awesome for a game of cricket. You can also straight into the Grandview Hotel from this park which has water views while you eat.
You can check the tide times HERE.
I’ve spent a lot of playdates and BBQs at this park.
My tips are to avoid it on a very windy day, it seems to catch the worst of it. Be wary that when swimming the mud is quite thick further out, kids could get stuck. Also, beware of stingers which are present around the bay at random times, usually you will find warning signs.
