Bayside & Redlands Parks & Playgrounds

This list is made up of popular family-friendly Bayside & Redlands Playgrounds.

Most of the Redlands playgrounds listed have all the main facilities e.g. BBQ’s, toilets and drinking water. Some parks have skate parks and Dog off-leash areas close by.

Capalaba Regional Park – Pittwin Rd north

Lots of shade in various places, Bikeway which travels out of the park & down to Capalaba Sports Field (and beyond). Playground facilities cater for both young and older children.

Capalaba Regional Park is among the popular Redlands playgrounds in the area so it does get busy on the weekends, plenty of parking available.

Cleveland Point Reserve – Shore Street North

Cleveland Point Reserve is home to the Cleveland Lighthouse. The park offers Shaded picnic and BBQ facilities. The playground is small, however, there is a large grassy area for running around. The point is surrounded by pathway and the views are beautiful.

Close to Cleveland Point is GJ Walter Park

Gj Walter Park is positioned behind the Grandview Hotel. This playground is smaller but has the added bonus of a dog off leash area and isn’t as busy. For full information on this Redlands Playground visit HERE.

Cleveland Town Centre Play Spot

In the middle of town in Bloomfield St, you will find a small play area close to local shops. There is often a jumping castle set up here on market days. This area has been completely re-done and now has a deck with seating supplied.

Victoria Point Thompson’s Beach

W H Yeo Park, Thompson Street has shaded BBQ facilities as well as toilets. The park has a toddler park at one end, Basketball court, and gym in the middle, older child’s playground at the end.

Thompsons Beach among the popular Redlands playgrounds in the area so it does get busy on the weekends.

Wellington Point Recreation Reserve

Wellington Point Recreation Reserve, Main Rd has a swimming beach & boat ramps and access to the bay. You can fish off the Jetty or just watch the parasailing from the shore.

Thornlands, William Stewart Park, Vintage Drive

William Stewart Park has a small playground area but a huge grass area as well as basketball courts and outdoor gym. Adjacent to the park is a Skate Park. Parking is available on both the playground side and the skate park area.

Wynnum Esplanade Playground & Water Park

Wynnum Esplanade has a reasonably large playground with all of the major facilities including BBQS, toilets and change rooms.

The park also hosts a water play area & a wading pool. This is a very busy park on summer weekends so the advice is to arrive early for the best parking.

Wynnum Esplanade recently underwent a refurbishment and the whale water area has been re-done.

Beth Boyd Park Birkdale

Aquatic Paradise Park

 Beth Boyd park has the main playground area as well as twin slides, volleyball net, and a pirate ship structure at the foreshore. The swimming area is occasionally weedy but on a clear day, it’s a wonderful place for kids to cool off.

Indigiscapes Capalaba

Indigiscapes Capalaba has a small playground area with a flying box, themed gardens, bushwalking and a coffee shop.

Sel Outridge Park Redland Bay

A small playground area with a BIG grass area, Water views, and sports facilities.

Raby Bay Foreshore Park

Raby Bay Foreshore park hosts a Liberty Swing, Playground, Toilets, BBQ’s + more.

  1. Thanks for this great list! We live on the north side of Brisbane but I’m always on the lookout for day trip destinations, especially places that will keep Miss Three entertained.
