How To Plan The Perfect Trip To New Farm Park
You can get to New Farm Park a number of ways. If you live on the South Side like me you may want to drive. Parking is free and I have never had an issue finding a spot, even if it means driving around a little.
If you live near a ferry terminal the City Cat drops you off right on the park’s doorstep.
New Farm Park is the perfect starting point If you are making a full day of the city. You can park and travel by CityCat to Southbank, The Botanic Gardens & Brisbane Central with ease and minimal cost. New Farm Park is HUGE!
You will find kids taking advantage of the space on their scooters and bikes. New Farm Park has plenty of shade AND a Bellissimo coffee shop at the end of the playground.
The park is always well kept with soft grass to sit on and undercover areas with a concrete base.
There are barbeques & toilets as well as access for the disabled. To plan your perfect trip to New Farm park all you need to do is bring your things and yourself.
The park has everything else covered. The grounds are perfect for a picnic lunch and you might want to bring closed in shoes so the kids can climb the intricate tree branches.
If you think there is a possibility you will use the City Cat remember your go cards or cash. The City Cat Drivers prefer if you take small change as they carry minimal cash on board. You can check the Citycat Timetable HERE.
The Moonlight Cinema is currently open, however, this is seasonal. You can check the dates and times HERE.
New Farm Park has excellent sporting facilities including a Basketball Court, Croquet Lawns & a Tennis Court. To organise the hire of tennis courts you can go HERE.
We visit the park for the Playground. It’s fantastic and keeps kids of all ages occupied. The large climbing trees are a challenge for older kids and the playground has a toddler area. The swings offer a parent/child swing which is something I wish all of the larger playgrounds would install.
There is great visibility in the sitting areas of the whole playground, parental supervision is important as the road is close by and the river is only a 3-minute run.
If you are planning a holiday to Brisbane and you would like to find New Farm accommodation close to the park there are two hotels surrounding the park area (Parkleigh Apartments and Edward Lodge).
