Warril Parkland – Nature Based Adventure Playground

The best parks are those that utilise the natural wonders around them. Warril Playground is no exception.

Looking for a cool place to hang out before the Skating Rink opens? We found an awesome hidden gem that exceeded our expectations!

We wandered into a park thinking it was just a dam with some grass, but it turned out to be a fantastic stop. The park is dotted with huge stick teepees, creatively built by kids who have the freedom to explore the woods for branches. The playground is almost entirely made of timber, blending beautifully with the surrounding bushland.

Quick List Of Park Perks:

  • Creative Stick Teepees: Built by kids from branches found in the woods.
  • Timber Playground: Blends beautifully with the bushland backdrop.
  • Water Play Area: Features pumps and showers for cooling off.
  • Magnificent Fort: Suitable for all ages.
  • Ample Parking: Over 50 parking spaces, surprisingly quiet on weekends.
  • Convenient Facilities: Toilet block viewable from the playground.
  • Undercover Seating: Ideal for birthday parties and gatherings.
  • Scenic Billabong: Sparkling water with jetty-style boardwalks for birdwatching.
  • Walking Trails: Perfect for leisurely stroll

There’s a small water play area with pumps and showers perfect for cooling off. The fort is magnificent and a great size for all ages. With over 50 parking spaces, the park was surprisingly quiet for a Sunday, making it even more enjoyable.

The toilet block is conveniently viewable from the playground, and there are huge undercover seating areas ideal for birthday parties and gatherings.

The sun sparkles against the billabong, complete with jetty-style boardwalks for birdwatching. If you love walking, the trails in Warril Parkland are perfect for a leisurely stroll or a brisk hike.

Beyond the playground, local kids have made BMX jumps on the terrain. It doesn’t look like an “official” BMX trail, but there’s no signage suggesting otherwise, so it seems like a fun spot for some off-road biking.

Overall, this park turned out to be a fantastic place to kill some time and enjoy the great outdoors!
